Scholarships for IYASE Sponsored Continuing Education
IYASE offers partial scholarships to attend IYASE sponsored workshops. Generally, IYASE will award up to 50% of your total expenses, including the workshop fee, housing and transportation. To be eligible, you must be a member of IYASE, meet the workshop requirements, have a financial need and be dedicated to the practice of Iyengar yoga.
The Continuing Education committee, when possible, provides housing opportunities at no cost with local students or at reasonably priced accommodations. The scholarship committee will expect scholarship applicants to take advantage of these lower cost opportunities. Also, if you are traveling by airplane, we encourage you to make flight plans early enough to obtain a reasonably priced airfare.
In order to be eligible for a scholarship, send a deposit of one-half the cost of the workshop fee to the Continuing Education Chairperson. Please submit your completed application one month in advance of the workshop (date). Note that those applying for the Introductory workshop also should have the teacher recommendation form filled out by their primary teacher and returned to the Scholarship Chairperson 30 days in advance. This form is not required when applicants are applying for the Intermediate Junior workshop.

Scholarships for Certification Assessment
IYASE will award two scholarships annually of up to $500.00 each to assist and support members with the expense of travel to assessments for certification. The requirements are as follows:
- current member in good standing of IYASE
- IYNAUS acceptance of application for assessment
- confirmation letter indicating acceptance for year applying and venue assigned
- financial need
- dedication to the practice of Iyengar yoga
- not a current board member or relative/spouse of IYASE Board member
The deadline for applications is July 1st of the year of the applicant's assessment. The award will be made by July 15th of that year. Please promptly let us know if your testing date is near the IYASE application deadline and if you need us to consider your application sooner.

Scholarship for Study at the Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Memorial Institute
IYASE will award one $1500.00 scholarship annually to one of its members in order to support and to ease the expense of travel to India and study at RIMYI. The requirements are as follows:
- current member in good standing of IYASE
- certified at Teacher in Training or higher level of Iyengar Yoga certification
- confirmation letter indicating acceptance to study at RIMYI for year applying
- financial need
- dedication to the practice of Iyengar yoga
- not a current board member or relative/spouse of IYASE Board member
- letter of recommendation from an Iyengar certified teacher
The deadline for applications is October 15 of the year prior to the applicant's travel to RIMYI. The award will be made by November 30 of that year. Two-thirds of the award ($1,000) will be awarded prior to the trip, and the other one-third ($500) will be awarded upon completion of the study.
